Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, Anyone ever have a problem with the manual clutch system on the 996 causing you to really press down progressively harder in order to get the starter to engage? Over the last few occasions that I have driven my 01 996 I've been really pushing the clutch pedal before she'll start, any adjustments I need to make ? Thanks. Pmc01

POST 2Original post

Sounds like the switch is on its way out......just replace it, pretty common occurrence. you can do it in about 2 minutes....

Thanks for the info Bell, much appreciated.

POST 4Original post

It takes 2 minutes but what a painful 2 minutes on your back, ass halfway in the seat and your body hanging out over the door sill. If you have a bad back, beware. Paul
