Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The one above, sorry don't know what went wrong with my post uh:

POST 4Original post

I do not know the car I am afraid but what a depressingly low price... Looks a whole lot of car for the money - there surely has to be something driving that price position, other than trying to slel a cab when it is still snowing of course!

POST 5Original post

You'll probably find he'll be selling it so cheap as he has been offered silly money in part ex against his new car from the dealer.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Unsure about a 996 I'm still unsure about a 996 even though it does seem cheap as I've heard so many horror stories about the engines. I only came across ir whilst looking for a 993 but it did get me thinking again! Dazed and Confused still, where can I find some sensible info on what to llok out for on the 996? Cheers

POST 7Original post

Remember people only tell you when something goes wrong with their car :?: I would of thought that if something was going to go wrong with the engine it would of happened by now as its on 85k. Seems a good price, I paid 15.7k less than a year go with similar spec

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Age What year cars had the major problems, did this ever get sorted on 3.4 engines or was it only resolved when the engine went to 3.6?

POST 9Original post

Re: Age I don't think the issue ever got resolved as I remember reading Gen 1 997's having the same issue. Bottom line is it only affected a small number of cars. Google search is your friend here for sure !
