Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

First post!! welcome aboard. Nice spec. I don't have any tips on boxster ownership other than to say get the roof down at all times. DAZ

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers for the reply. I used to have a Griffith 500 that was a bit temperamental, and a Cobra replica that was just too basic and drafty for the GF. So looking forward to play with all the buttons ! and a roof that puts itself away.

POST 3Original post

Welcome, alot of people say a Boxster isn't a real Porsche but I was well chuffed with the ones I went in on work experience, I'm looking forward to a) being old enough to afford the insurance and b) having enough money for one, I think they are a good start into the Porsche world.

POST 4Original post

Welcome to Porsche ownership and Pistonheads. ANOTHER Boxster S owner on the forum - excellent! You have just obtained one of the finest cars Porsche have ever made IMO. Nice spec too. Enjoy the car. Its soo civilised whilst being able to do amazing things. Just love that mid-engined handling. Are you planning on joining the PCGB and perhaps a few of their track days?

POST 5Original post

Sounds excellent, but what's paint protection?

POST 6Original post

Might be Armourfend or similar. Anti-stone-chip clear plastic coating...

POST 7Original post

Wecome!Hope you have many, many happy miles in your Boxster S. Steve

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the replys. Paint protection is supposed to be something Lancasters at colchester offer people who push for a better deal on their second hand cars as well as a carpet protection system!! what ever that is. Anyway I bought a car not chemicals they put on it.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don. What is PCGB ?:confused

POST 10Original post

Porche Club GB Newsletters/magazine, offers on insurance trackdays travel, god knows what else, not a member myself never needed anything more than a tank of petrol and a sunny day! well done with the car though, have fun.

POST 11Original post

Porsche Club Great Britain... worth joining.... includes a monthly mag with details of track days, registers, regional events, etc, etc.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Do they have regional meets and so on ? But not wanting to be too much of an anorack you understand, been there, done that !

POST 13Original post

The club is split into regions and they do indeed have local get togethers. The club is also split into registers for each type of car and these plan their own events too. I've never been to either however so don't know how 'anoraky' they are. Everyone seems to be a bit old when you see the photos in the club magazine. Hark at me, a sprightly 34.

POST 15Original post

It's so heavily dependent on who runs the region though - I used to run one for 3 years - was easily the youngest RO in the club at that time and the average age has gone even further south. Can't imagine some from certain regions I know wanting to go down to VW to have a bit of fun....

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
