Sorry if this is in another thread but I can't find it. My remote locking has packed in. As far as I can see there's plenty of juice left in the key and the LED lights up brightly. I can lock the car up using the key in the driver's side door so not sure what is wrong? Is there a fuse specifically for the remote locking or is it likely some costly control unit? Would like to check what I can before I cough up at a garage...

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

generally when they still light up but don't function then they need a new fob.. does the locking work off the button on the dash and can you get under the front bonnet as there is a fuse on the alarm ecu under the passenger seat that sometimes blows causing problems
Thanks Porscheuro. Yes when I open up the drivers door and get in quickly and put key in ignition and turn to stop alarm going off the button on the dash is still red and yes I can use it to turn off locking completely. I can get under the front bonnet yes - i've had to recently to remove the battery cover as my windscreen washer pipe fixture had worked loose and was squirting water everywhere. Could that have reached the fuse? Whereabouts is it?
Hi, I think what porscheuro was saying was that if you could not gain access to the front luggage compartment there could be a chance the alarm control unit's fuse may of blown... the unit with fuse are located underneath the passangers seat. You will more than likely need a new key fob (Remote section) at around £170-00 supplied and coded to car. Mike
