Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Dealer in CA shows a Forest Green Metallic Cayman available. Anybody out there buying Forest Green or Lapis Blue? or the more expensive Dark Teal, Dark Olive, or Slate Gray? Nice thing about a Porsche is you can pretty much get any color exterior/interior combo you want. Granted the vast majority go with some form of silver but why haven't heard about the above colors?

POST 2Original post

I disagree, as the majority of us have heard about the other colors. Some have said there is only one color for a Porsche, Silver. I don’t agree I would have gone the Guards Red but hesitated with the fade factor. I did spec with Guards Red Belts to match the red calipers, one holds you the other holds the rotors. zornet

Mine will be Lapis - delivery expected in Feb '06. Photos to follow shortly thereafter

I think the $3K additional price tag keeps people from experimenting, although I recently saw my dealer sell a Slate Grey Boxster S over an Atlas Grey Boxster S as the buyer liked slate better and didn't care about the $2k+ price difference between the two. IMHO Atlas is better looking and you save the $$$, but different strokes for different folks. Maybe at PCA parade next year we'll see some of these colors if not sooner.

POST 5Original post

From a dealer standpoint, we often try to 'mix it up' by ordering different color combinations. I will tell you if ordered properly, some of the special metallics can be stunning in person and extremely rare. But they don't always hit everyone's 'hot' button, therefore the safest order is always silver/black or black/black. It's always somewhat challenging to order cars for stock/inventory purposes. As we all know the options can be overwhelming and the price quickly skyrockets. The challenge lies in ordering a car that someone will like, but doesn't completely break the bank on price. It's interesting to see how various dealers order their cars for inventory...some completely load them up while other dealers really order basic cars. I like to be in the middle of the 2 extremes, offering our customers unique cars at reasonable price points. i.e. it's easy to build an $83,000 Cayman S that everyone will like...but will people buy it?

POST 6Original post

Woodhouse, Congrats on getting your posting issue fixed, what was the solution?

POST 7Original post

Woodhouse, I have noticed that a lot of "dealer" Cayman S's have 19" wheels without PASM. Are they just trying to control the price or don't they think it is needed? Ruby

POST 8Original post

Dark Teal is an awesome color and I was considering it until is switched to being a $3k option. Forest green looks great in low light situations but can be a bit 'too' green in bright sunlight. Slate is a great color, but as K-man S said......a color such as Atlas is justas nice (even better IMO) and is not all thatcommon. I just wish Porsche offered a few more colors to choose from......right now Mercedes has some of the best colorsto choose from. They have a few that are simply stunning IMO.

POST 9Original post

I was looking at the Carbon Blue and Forest Green to order but wife wanted the white/gray over the other two. I heartily agreed as I didn't want to pay the additional money for the paint so I could use it on options I felt were more important. If budget had not come into play tho the Blue would have been a go for sure.

POST 10Original post

The launch cars were configured by PCNA...not the dealers. The fact that the cars are equipped w/ 19's and no PASM was a decision made by execs in Atlanta. I personally feel the PASM is needed and the 19's are not necessary...which is the opposite of the equipment on the launch cars. I've ordered almost all of our cars w/ full leather, 18's, PASM and Xenons. MSRP pricing is around $70,000 on most of our incoming Cayman S inventory.

POST 18Original post

Woodhouse, Are you getting or have you ordered Dark Olive? I seem to remember in a previous post you mentioned Dark Olive/Sand Beige was a nice color combo. Any other colors besides blacks, reds, yellows and silvers?
