Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My drive has a gentle slope on it. Probably only about 5-10 degrees but enough to be noticeable. I am wondering if there is any benefit in parking nose up or nose down. I was thinking originally about where oil might be accumulating in the engine and/or draining down in the two different attitudes. I suppose it is also possible that there could be a coolant and/or rain water angle too? Any thoughts, or does it make no difference at all!? Thanks H

POST 2Original post

Park sideways, so at least three cylinders don't go bang. PS - make sure it's bank 4-6, they are the needy ones.

POST 3Original post

POST 4Original post

That's all very well, but what do you do on the extra day in Leap Years?

POST 5Original post

I think the extra day is usually Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday, isn't it?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Like the way you're thinking, but pub sadly also on a hill! :floor: Tried parking sideways and overinflating both nearside tyres to get the car level. Worked brilliant, and also good for countering camber on country lanes. Sadly as I joined the M5 and gave it the beans I shot across three lanes straight into the armco... :hand:

Guessing you're talking about leaving her stationary for days or weeks at a time? Being a techie but without any particular reasoning on this one, logic tells me you want to park nose up....who knows why we have opinions sometimes!! To avoid any problems you'll just have to drag her out and about for a jog fairly regularly or find another pub with a flat car park....hardship and what an excuse
