Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It's not as pretty...?
No, it's not
Yes it is
Yes it is
Oh yes it is
Will be interesting to see if people can get them, unlike the GT4. I suspect the GT4 is more in demand because of the Motorsport heritage?
Looks far more aggressive than the old one - a very good thing imo. Electric roof too?
It's growing on me - looks like GT Silver is the way to go...
Yep definitely is !
Now got to work out how to afford one given that I can't bear to part with the original...
I'm not so sure. Has it got to user friendly and lost its weekend/toy feel about it?! Videos - http://www.porsche.com/microsite/boxster-spyder/uk...
The web special shows the rear wing lifting, that's new to me: I think the new Spyder is very interesting. As a car that I'd own it would fit into my life much better than a GT4 would. 10mm higher ride height, passive suspension, detuned GT4 engine (which can surely be remapped back to 400-410 PS), the option of open top motoring and it is most likely lighter than the GT4... I can see why Röhrl ordered a new Spyder. I do think that the older Spyder looks "more special" but I'd argue that the newer one is "more special".
I don't think it looks much (any?) better than the GTS. Boring wheels - needed GT4 rims and side scoops imo. Performance figures looking good though - Weight 1315 (no air-con) vs 1345 for GTS. Power-to-weight ratio 285hp/ton vs 245/ton (GTS). Cayman GT4 - 287/ton. PDK would of seen it hitting 60 in less than 4secs... couldn't have it being quicker than the GT4
photos makes it look like hood is electric but on the video it clearly isn't?

Like it, another manual car not trying to chase Ring times. Looks better in the video than the pictures.
Elton John and his husband has ordered one

The optional 'Classic Spyder' Interior package.... which has GT Silver painted interior parts. ..... which would match perfectly with the optional GT Silver paint option for the exterior. So between the two.. £3000-4000 extra? They're not stupid are they!
Alloys look chrome here! New pic - I like the front, not so sure about the rear. It looks bulky!

That looks fantastic, really want another Porsche now
I wonder if the way the car looks has been deliberately muted so not to detract away from the GT4. I agree with all the comments that the body design work, looks like the coming together of a GT4 (front) and a modified 981 (rear). Looks rather awkward imo. However, whilst it looks might be marmite, I suspect this will be one hell of a car to drive, given the extra power/weight ratio. In addition to this (for the purist) in keeping with a manual it will make a great 'drivers' car. Personally I'm a PDK fan boy but, would not be upset being forced to have a manual. It is quite clear to me that both across the GT4 and Spyder Porsche have (for now at least) deliberately chosen a manual transmission (over pdk) to ensure that the cars sprinting and lap times remain muted far below that of other halo product higher up the range. Overall my take on the 981 sypder is a feeling of 'what could of been', had it had the stickers, bigger air intakes, some identity alloys (or perhaps GT ones), in conjunction with a more seamless look on the body, this would have been a serious proposition and highly desired. As it is, I think it will appeal to new to brand customers more for the being the fastest roadster you can buy, rather than tempt existing Spyder owners to part with their current pride and joy.
German configurator online already: http://www.porsche.com/germany/modelstart/all/?mod...
UK too http://cc.porsche.com/icc_euro/ccCall.do?rt=142789...
I think it looks great, I prefer 981 over 987 - so this looks better to me than 987 Box Spyder. You have the 911 engine, good power to weight (nearly the same as a 997.1 GT3) so what's not to like. Sounds like a great proposition to me.

Beaver said: UK too http://cc.porsche.com/icc_euro/ccCall.do?rt=142789... Strange the UK configurator only shows the 911 buckets, not the 918 buckets as are on the german configurator and in all the press materials?
