Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All: I don't have the car yet so I cannot read the manual. I do not know what these are and the dealer is having a hard time with it to. Any ideas? 1999 996 C2

POST 2Original post

Look like seat warmer buttons...though not in any place I've ever seen them.

POST 3Original post

Whoa, Those buttons don't even look stock!!! BOb

POST 5Original post

I am no expert but the stock seat warmer buttons do not look like that (at least not that I have seen). My only guess is some kind of aftermarket seat warmer install. It does however look pretty clean and professionally done. By the way, how come the dealer does not know? Can he not ask the seller?

POST 6Original post

Someone added those non oem switches to the cassette storage box. Let us know what they operate. Jeff

POST 7Original post

Neon lights or perhaps switches for the hydraulics... no idea. I have never seen any stock switches that look like that.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well the dealer figured it out. I think..... Park distance control. Why two, I am not sure. One pre side?

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I looked closer at the rear and there are two sensors. And there looks to be two on the front as well but it is hard to see. I had PDC on my BMW M5 and it was actually really nice. Modern day Curb Feelers

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tape warmers...............

POST 14Original post

I know, those are the booster rocket ignition switches. Make sure you hit both at the same time or your car will be unbalanced.

POST 16Original post

They are not OEM buttons, heated seats would be oval buttons lower than those in location, parktronic would only be in the rear, maybe they are for the NOS bottles

POST 17Original post

Hey, I wanna know more about the under car neon lights.....sounds "uptown". But I guess that begs the question.... which town???
