Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evening all, After several weeks of a daily 2 mile journey, not surprisingly my battery was flat this morning. Having removed to charge up, I dropped the frunk and closed it shut, straight away I knew I shouldn't have done that! I don't think pulling the red tab in the fuse will work in this situation where no battery is fitted? The car is parked between two cars so can't really get in to the wheel arch either. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.....

POST 2Original post

You need to apply power via the tab in the fuse box.

POST 3Original post

This is your best shot. You've just got to hope the battery positive terminal isn't touching bodywork.

POST 4Original post

I'm no expert but it should work. The donor battery is supplying the power needed directly to the bonnet release in the same way that it does if your battery is flat.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks All, the red tab worked -phew! Just hope the battery holds its charge 🤞
