Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Probably a daft question, but the recline switch on my 996.1 cabriolet will only make the seat back go down and not up, presuming this is a switch issue? But wanted to check if there is anything else I should check. If it is the switch can it be rebuilt or is a replacement the only option??

POST 2Original post

wiring diagram below .. I'm unsure what type of seat you have so basic is what i have posted but they are pretty similar in operation to the full electric . The switch is pretty much going to be the fault .. all it does from looking at the diagram is reverse the wires to the motor to move forwards or backwards . If there was a wiring fault then imho it wouldn't work at all .

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for this, yes looks like it is the switch 😬 I will have a look at the weekend I presume it's a sealed unit. Hopefully it might be covered by my warranty.......but I'm sure it won't be! Thanks again

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
