Sorry if this has been asked before but I didn't see anything with a search. I'm from the US but currently live in Dubai. I drive a 2006 CS which I brought over from the US and I'm considering modifying it by moving the engine behind the rear axle. I believe this modification is called "buying a 911". The problem is I don't really know how long I will be here, but I'd guess 1-3 years and I keep cars longer than that an tend to get a bit attached to them. I don't like the idea of buying a car here and maybe have to dump it in less than a year (or even 2). The two options I see are 1. buying a car here and shipping it back to the US, which I assume requires conversion and paperwork as well as duties. Or 2. I could buy a car on my next trip to the US, ship it to Dubai, and then ship it back. I know how to ship a car from the US to Dubai and I assume shipping a US titled car back again isn't an issue. However, I don't know about shipping a GCC car to the US. Anyone have any experience? The car would be a recent model (2011 or newer) and possibly 991 S, 997 S, 997 GTS, 997 Turbo or 997 GT3. :thanks:
