Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Ok, my 2006 Cayman came without a stereo in it. I found a nice CDR24 . After I purchased It the local dealer says I need the VIN of the car it came out of so they can get the code to activate it. Of course I have no way of getting that VIN. Am I screwed? Thanks, T

POST 2Original post

I swapped out my CDR24 for a PCM2.1 and didn't need any codes or vin numbers.

POST 3Original post

Just went with a double DIN Kenwood aftermarket.

POST 4Original post

Same thing, put in the Kenwood with Nav, that way you get you Bluetooth etc.

POST 5Original post

Just guessing but wouldn't the radio have a serial number on it that they could cross reference? Or, maybe the place you got it from has some information that would help in finding the answer.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
