POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's funny, before I got the car I had sleepless nights picturing having her. Now I have sleepless nights because I can't stop looking at her through the window. First let me start by saying a big thanks to the Legend that is 'LLOYD SIX" .....but we'll come back to that later. I need to use this post as a means of documenting my Journey. The journey that completed a childhood dream :cloud9: It all started to come together round about here, my first ever 911 drives: http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=410889&highlight=#410889 So after all this how did I end up with a Boxster? Simple.....It was half the price, a great introduction and still aaalllll Porsche. I had an absolutely fantastic year with the Boxster which included many trips to Europe and many topless days in the sun. I obviously put up with the abuse for it not being a proper Porsche....... BOVERED!!! :boxer: The long sad goodbye  The best way I could think of to say goodbye was one final clean and pamper on the day of the exchange. The journey to deliver the car to Lloyd turned into one of the most stressful drives I've ever had the pleasure of undertaking. Everywhere I turned I was convinced that every road user was out to crash into me and stop me from reaching my destiny. A bit dramatic I know, but the excitement was simply making me mad. After 3 hours of driving hell Id arrived.....And there she was! ance-Tap:  :yahoo: :yahoo: The best way to highlight the mastery of Lloyd Six is to show you. Pictures although simply do not do this car justice but with my basic camera skills I will try to capture some of his magic. Looks like one of the opening scenes in KNIGHT RIDER!!! Yes.....They really are red.....Stunning! Short term plans. Simply and primarily to enjoy owning the car I've always dreamed of. This car is so similar yet so different to the Boxster in so many ways. Most notably the handling. I am having to show a great deal of respect to this car at the moment as its all too easy to feel like a passenger as the speed builds. I've planned a Ring trip for the next bank holiday weekend but this will more than likely be a drive down there soaking up the scenery then jumping in with someone else to do some laps.....A Porsche Experience day may be required to build my confidence. Long term plans: I plan to build on the solid base that Lloyd has skilfully created: I have my mind set on a clubsport spec vehicle remaining conscious of the overall spend considering that GT3's these days can be had for 35-ish grand. So far I'm thinking: MK2 GT3 Aero kit maybe?? Light weight BBS split rims Suspension optimisation Intake and exhaust optimisation with ECU remapping. Lightweight seats And the list goes on...... Best thing of all is that I have absolutely no reason to get rid of this car so the potential modifications could go on forever. In reality though, this car needs for nothing! Thanks LLOYD!! Tim

POST 2Original post

Yea! Congratulations. You are probably driving one of the best looked after and well maintained 911s on the planet, judging from the love and knowledge of Lloyd Six. Don't go overboard on the respect thing though. The best advice I was given (five short months ago) was - drive it like you stole it. Just stay away from the hedgerows! Don'y you dare post tomorrow - go drive it! JR

POST 3Original post

Health to enjoy it. You have a well sorted car from Lloyd. I still feel like you do 2 years down the line and don't give one hoot that I have the 3.4 or fried egg lamps.

POST 4Original post

Great write up. I too have recently come from Boxster to 996 ownership & have to say, loved the Boxster but 996 is fantastic. A 911  Yours (Lloyds ex) car looks stunning. Enjoy 8) :thumb:

POST 5Original post

Welcome to 911uk - :bye: Nice car you have there.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers!! Agreed, the 911's absolutely fantastic. Just back from a days driving about. A-B via Z  Just slowing down every so often to catch my reflection in a shop window.

POST 7Original post

You were doing that too today then :thumb:

POST 8Original post

Great story and an even better car. Have you had people stare at you as you round a corner? Or kids looking at you with an open mouth? (Which they wouldn't have done with a Boxster!!). Immature, I know, but I love it when these things do happen!!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Funnily enough, while I was washing her, a little (but very smart) kid out on a sunday walk said to his dad: "Daddy Daddy Look........That black car over there is AAAAAMAAAZING" The dad then looked over at me with an 'i own a Peugeot Estate' look in his eyes. It made my day

POST 10Original post

911virgin Car looks v good. Drive it and enjoy it. Try not to get caught gazing out of the window at it too much! (like I have been).

POST 11Original post

Oh god.. those pictures are good... too good. Let me try and explain how Mr Six feels at this very moment... Emagine dating the hotest, sexiest chick, being totally in love with her and the envy of all your mates... then she dumps you for your best mate. You are in town and you see her snogging your best mate while squeezing his crotch, suddenly a few friends appear and say.. here Lloyd, ain't that your ex? Well that is nearly half what I am feeling right now    I know you will look after and cherish her so that is good enough for me, I don't think I could have sold it to someone who looked like he had been given the cash by his old man to use as a thrash about even if they paid more... am I odd? :? Another point.... the above think it looks good.. you just gotta hear this baby growl !!!! FYI I purchased Mrs Six a BMW Touring yesterday ready for Baby Sevens pram!!!
