Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 2000 plate C4 cab started playing up. Warning lights coming on, intermitantly, then after I stoped at shop, failed to start. Got her home, charged the battery, but today the volt gauge would not go above 12, and on my 7 mile trip home from work dropped to 10 when pretty much all the warning lights were on and the alarm going off. Garage checked and no charge coming from the alternator. So, a new alt needed. Or is there anything else I should check? Where's best place to get one? How big a job is it, seems reasonably accessable after removing airbox etc. Any help appreciated :d

Altenator does fall into DiY category, the symptoms you have are text book of either a regulator (comes with new altenator) or altenator fault. Email me at [email removed] I will check it out and see if I can get one at mega-trade for you :thumb: Lloyd
