Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The time had come. You know the time I'm talking about. The one we all fear. When owner and trusted steed part ways. I knew the time was approaching, but delayed as long as I could. I stalled. I pleaded. I avoided the subject. Heck, I avoided her! It had to happen. The time was overdue. Yesterday I finalized the deal and delivered the car. It is gone. I will never see it again... There are two things, about this, that make me happy. 1)The new owner already cherishes it like I did. 2)The knowledge that another Porsche will be parked in my driveway at some time. Good Luck all.

POST 2Original post

I feel your pain having sold my Carrera last weekend. The dealer sold it the following day!! While I definately miss it, and will surely buy another some day, I will say that I'm enjoying the heck out of my E55 AMG .

Hey John..anytime you're feeling sad waiting for your next Pcar, come on down to the Cape and we'll have a ball all the way from Bourne to crusing Ptown with the top down! <img src="http://www.986host.com/albums/doncapecod/DSC00033.sized.jpg" alt=" - " />

Talk about ripping a limb out of your body, selling a porsche out is even harder! I posted earlier last month that i was really proud and happy to hand over the keys to the new owner (he's a pcarphile also) it's probably coz the memories are still there and they will hang on so tight and produce instinctive unvolunterary spams that will only make us smile over and over! Don W, That is one bad *** car you have there! Wow! Very, very nice. Mark

POST 6Original post

John, Parting is such sweet sorrow. It's funny how attached we become to our cars. I even felt those pangs when I was trading in my last Pcar for a new and improved Pcar. And when I was at the dealer a week later and they told me they had already sold my trade in, I thought how special my first Porsche must have been and that I had made a big mistake. Atleast I had a new one to soften the pain. I truly hope that you will one day soon have a replacement to help ease your pain. Hang in there.

POST 7Original post

When I sold my 964 Cab, it was a sad day for me. I thought it was sad that with all the work, mods, etc I put into it, I didn't drive it more often. I told myself I wouldn't do that again. However, my 993 C4S has been driven about 500 miles in the last 2 1/2 months. Oh well, at least it's pretty to look at in the garage under the cover!

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Don! I would love a ride in Misty! Good thing I just got broadband internet, cause the search for another P car is hot and heavy!!

POST 9Original post

Nice ride Poursha, is it the beast the spec sheet says it is?

POST 10Original post

Poursha- will you take your e55 out in the track? I've tracked with the older e55 and wouldn't mind seeing the new ones out there : ). Regards. Mike

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mike(996flt6), I sold my car to a young guy from San Francisco. He is an avid track guy and used to track an 80 SC Targa, but now it will be my ex-996!! I am sure you will meet up with him. Its the silver/black 1999 with the GT3 rollbar and red harnesses and 18 inch Ruf wheels. I know he would love to chat 996's with you as well. Good luck all. Any suggestions on what I should get next?
