Symptoms (in no particular order) Fault is recent, and intermittent. It does not always occur... but usually does. If it does not occur the window will drop slightly when the door handle is actuated, stay down while the door is open, and roll back up when the door is closed. In the problem state: The light on the door lock button on the dash comes on. Pressing this door lock button to unlock the doors may or may not make it go out. If it does not go out, pressing it a second time may work, or may make the dome light come on briefly and then the horn chirp twice. The window will not go down an inch or so (as expected) when opening or closing the door, resulting in the glass binding on the rubber edge of the hardtop or the convertible top. Sometimes when opening the door the window *will* drop as expected but immediately return to the up position; this will result in the window binding on the rubber edge. Locking the car with the key remote may make the horn chirp twice. The Boxster has a removable hardtop. I notice the problem both with the hardtop on or with the convertible top in the up position. The problem may not exist with the top down an no hardtop in place, but I am not sure since that's the nature of an intermittent fault, and I rarely drive with the top down/off but windows up.
