Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok. I have a 2003 996 C2; the drivers side window has always had the 'one-touch of the button and the window goes all the way up or down' function but the passenger side has never seemed to do the same - I have to hold the button down until the passenger side window reaches the top. It's been the same since I bought the car in 2005. I might have heard that it's possible to 're-program' the electrics by lowering the window all the way and then continuing to hold the button down for 10 seconds or so but I haven't tried this yet (wasn't sure if it would strain the electric motor..? ) Or it might have been that I need to raise the window all the way up and do the same...? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks. Adrian.

POST 2Original post

To retrain the window you open the window fully, then raise the window and keep the button pressed for a couple of seconds, until it cuts out.
