Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi Guys, I have managed to source a used PSE exhaust from a Cayman R for my 987.2 Black Edition. My question is aside from the centre console switch module which I will have to source to include all the correct buttons, is there anything else I should worry about regarding install? I know the PSE has vacuum valves, where do they connect to, is the hardware already there? Also, will my vehicle have to go into a OPC go get programmed and does it have any correlation with Sports Chrono? I'm pretty confident on this question but will my black tips fit straight onto the R exhaust? Regards, Chris

POST 2Original post

Hi Chris, I remember reading a post on another member doing this, so do a little searching in the forums. It is a lot of work. Porsche sells a kit with all the parts. It will need to go to someone with a PWIS computer for coding. I could not find the link to the 987.2 versions of the kit, but here is the link to the 981 version; scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the instructions link. The 981, 987.2 are probably pretty close.

That's really helpful, thanks for sharing that. My normal indie will only fit the actual exhaust and not do the wiring to make it functional so I am just finding somebody that would do it for me at the moment as I don't have the facilities at home to do it myself - never the less the installation of the electrics is more than I would have a go at anyway. I still might buy the exhaust as I think the sound would be improved, I am guessing if it is not wired in fully then the exhaust would be open 100% of the time?
