Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Last year I gave my 987.1s new life by hyperdipping the wheels in Anthracite Grey. This year I decided to spray the roll bars in Emerald Black Metallic, a surprisingly good match to Basalt Black Metallic. Took about an hour to prep (remove seat belt holder, trim pieces, and Bose sub), and just about 2 hours of spray (5 min spray, 20 min wait cycles). Got about 6 coats from one bottle. What do you guys think?

What's "hyperdipping"? I do like the look of matching roll bars to exterior color..

POST 3Original post

Looks nice! I also have not heard of hyperdipping. I applaud the thoroughness of your masking job

POST 4Original post

Do you remember plastidip spray? Hyperdip is a much improved version of the same product. Basically an aerosol paint spray that is rubber based. Hyperdip is very tough and has more metallic and shiney options vs plastidip which was basically matte by default. If you don't want to pay to paint your wheels etc then hyperdip is easy to DIY and is extremely forgiving. Also looks absolutely fantastic. I did my roll bars with a single $20 bottle. My wheels were a $90 kit. Highly recommended.

Here's a photo of my wheels. Stock 19" boxster s wheels done in anthracite grey metallic. Looks amazing and didn't require much work at all.
