Thought I'd try a bit of diy detailing....I know I know, either very brave or very stupid. I guess I just can't resist it. Anyway, bought a rotarty polisher (3,00 rpm variable) with 3 polishing sponges. However, one sponge is for 2 pack paint and the other for Acrylic paint. How do I know what's on my baslat black 2003 996TT? I'd appreciate it if anyone can help. Also, has anyone tried the Zymol Glasur Glaze (£98)? If so do you know how it compares with Bilt Hammer Autobalm (£15). I find the later to be very good, great 'wet look' and hides spiral marks from the sun but never tried the Zymol. Cheers.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Take a look at the sticker under your bonnet. It has a paint code on it - it probably says 'C9Z'. As far as I can see this isn't a water based paint according to the book '996 - the essential compainion'. Just go very easy with whatever mop you use!
Thanks bud, I'll check it out....
Just had it confirmed from Porsche, it's 2 Pack Paint. Now I know which polishing mop to use
