Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have you checked out the other posting by K-man-s where he talks about a black/black Cayman S that is available now (as in no waiting!)?

Michael, Couple of comments... if you decide on a tan/beige or other light interior color, I'd look seriously at getting the full leather option... the non-leather material's texture really shows on the lighter colors.... if you decide on black or other dark interior color, you can probably get away without, but the full leather really looks good. W/ full leather, the sport seats are only $400 more. I'd also think about the sport steering wheel, too. If you like good sounding music, I think the Bose system is a must. Brad

Michael, That's a great setup. The only other thing that I might add is the Sport Chrono package. The sport setting that comes with this package will allow the gears to engage or shift quicker.

POST 6Original post

Welcome Michael.... Pretty nice option specs close to my own. Here's my .02 for what its worth..... Artic Silver on Black is classic, but a little common if that matters at all. Have a look at Artic and Sea Blue if possible.......a little different, but still great. If you choose full leather and like the black on tan look, take a quick look at the Natural Brown Leather option.....yes it is a bigger chunk of $$$, but it is a very rich looking brown and is fantastic in person. Makes for the ultimate black on tan combo. 86 the chrome exhaust.......just pull the tip off and have it chromed locally, should be way less $$. If you get full leather the 'smooth' leather sport steering wheel (the one in your spec @ $740) looks the best with it. The standard sport wheel (@ $250?) is nice, but thegrain texture of the leatherdoesn't match the full leather interior grain......which is really smooth. I went with the smooth leather version since I speced full leather. If you like the looks of the 19's then go for it, otherwise stick with the 18's The performance benefits of the 19's are minimal if anything. Lots of money for the wheels and tires compared to the 18's. Good luck.......this part will drive you crazy, then comes the wait.......

POST 7Original post

I'd urge you to go for Full Leather... that's a definite for me. Also with your mix of options, considerthe 'Preferred Package'. Includes Wheel Caps with Colored Crest, Self-Dimming Mirrors & Rain Sensor, Bose Sound System, Heated Seats, and Floor Mats in Interior Color.

POST 8Original post

thanks folks. as you can see from the more topic, time now seems to be critical, and i am closer to a decision. wish i could see the natural leather option, anyine gotta pic? i shall search. to make the interior in a standard leather unique, i would add several wood or carbon options, which could easily cost the price of the natural. ain't it great to be lucky enough to be faced with such choices? peace, michael

Michael, I looked very hard at natural leather for my Artic Silver. The dealer had samples fool around with. I happened to have an ink pen in my hand and accidently marked the natural leather and it didn't look good. I tried that on Cocoa and it didn't make a mark. So can you keep it clean? Your dealer should have a sample of all the leathers which should help.

POST 10Original post

Clean might be tough, I have 3 kids 4-11, and they will be fighting for a ride. Stuff happens. I will have a look at the samples. I was recently in Copenhagen, where they make wonderful modern furniture. I saw a chair designed by Hans Wegner, called the 'shell', that could be special ordered with a ' natural' leather. It included insect bites and assorted imperfections, things that would be removed or repaired in the normal tanning process. It looked incredible on the chair. I was warned it did have the protection of typical leather, and would age to a patina over time. I guess I am wondering if that kind of appearance fits best in the living room, or the garage?
