Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Just called my sales rep and he said mine is in San Diego. I think it may have arrived Tuesday even though he said today. From what I have seen here, the car left on the Ryujin on 12/9. He said a few days to prep the car and then on truck to Sacramento. I'm not sure he had all the details correct, but he said it might be ready by the 12th... I think it will still be the 14th release date. Anyway, it's here and I'm excited. I ordered the $733 roof top carrier and racing bike attachment from Germany since the parts guy said they aren't listed in the US yet. Dang, it takes 3-4 weeks to get here so won't be ready when the car is and I can't show off my Cayman to all my bike-riding buddies for a while. So 2 weeks until I get my seal gray / sea blue stripper Cayman (only paint and floor mats, and now bike carrier). Wondering just how nuts I will be in that last week of waiting???

POST 2Original post

Is that a Porsche bike carrier? That is probably very cool.... Love to see close ups when you get it.

POST 3Original post

I'm a bike rider as well so post those picture when you get it. Although the truck will still probably be my bike carrier.. And congrads on know where your Cayman is. Lucky you on the 14th.

POST 4Original post

I ordered the Porsche bike carrier... I helped design a carrier for the Boxster that fit into receptacles attached to the rear bumperette brackets.... no other choice with a convertible unless you wanted to buy the Porsche roof top system that was a pain. Now the Cayman has a nice roof top system so I don't need to hang the bike off the back of the car. I'll post pics as soon as I get it. Might even be able to very carefully pack a bike with both wheels removed under the hatchback but I'm afraid there isn't enough height in the middle.

POST 5Original post

Karl, I guess this is when the real waiting begins. Mine arrives in SD on the 5th, and then another 10 days of the longest days of my life till it gets here in Hawaii. Good Luck, Russ

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Karl, I was wondering too if you could put the bike under the hatch with the wheels removed and the handlebars flattened. I havea carbon/titanium Merlin that I would love to get into the back of the Cayman if possible. [/quote]
