Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I have an Jan. build Cayman ordered after arriving at my local dealer to spec out a 997S. I fell in love with the combination of style, price, discount, and freshness. I have enjoyed reviewing the clubs great comments about our soon to arrive cars. I have especially enjoyed reading road tests comparing the Cayman to the 997 and Boxster. But today I read a Renn (?) review that some of our readers found not to their liking. My personal opinion is this: We are all buying a new product. Never tested , never driven. Let's not remove negative comments because we don't like them. Now is the time for us all to hear those comments, some by respected professionals. We are not buying a perfect product. Can we agree to post reviews that show how others feel about the Caymen, as compared to other choices in the marketplace?

POST 2Original post

i concur. Still think the long-term story will be how the Cayman fits into the lineup. Did Porsche get it exactly right and carve out a new market between the 911 and Boxster or do sales eat away at one particular end of the model lineup. I'm coming at this as a Boxster owner, first and only Porsche to date. So much of what's said about anything on this board is purely personal opinion (color choices, option choices, driving style, how the car is used, etc) it really serves no purpose to get in an argument over which model is better. I just want to drive the thing so I can determine for myself if this is 'the best handling Porsche ever.' Let others have their say, it's their opinion and everyone's got one. My 2 cents worth.
