Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

my 2008 Cayman S, 6 speed, has a smell when I run up through the gears to 65 or 70mph. Not a pleasant odor but not like sulfur. No codes or idiot lights have popped up. Saying that I realize codes won't show on dashboard. No clue other than possibly clogged cats. Car has 112K miles on it. Any ideas . New clutch was installed not long ago, wonder if this could be cause of smell? Really lost here. Thanks

POST 2Original post

Exhaust issues should throw a code and plugged cats would cause detectable performance loss. Newest part change was a clutch, that's a good place to start. Lastly, does burnt clutch lining smell? Yep, it's like phenol in the cadaver lab once you smell it you never forget the smell. How is it running? Miles since clutch? It may go away if it's a relatively new job.

POST 3Original post

Yes, relatively new. Runs fine. Thanks for your input.
