Tried lifting the carpet to remove the engine cover as per the instructions on this forum but when I pried up on the front edge of the carpet I found that the carpet was still held on either side about half way down between the front and the back edge. I fully expected to pry up both sides at the front edge and slide the carpet foreward to release the two tabs in the back edge but obviously that was not possible. Any suggetsions ??? Thanks!
Read the article and lift up. There are tabs in front, sides and back of the carpet cover.
Take it easy & pry the carpet tabs toward the center as you work your way around the front & sides & lift it out. Careful - you can deform the carpet backing if you muscle it out & bend it too much. Once you have the front & sides free it slides forward.
