Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This might seem a strange question, but I've never seen a 996 C4S that didn't have a red stripe. Went to look at this one today (local) and aside from it being in terrible condition, it occurred to me it was missing the red stripe! https://www.pistonheads.com/classif...s/2002-02-porsche-996-3-6-c-4-s-coupe/9522136 Has someone sprayed the callipers and put an S on a C4?!?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Alex. That's what I thought... I just had a 5% niggle that maybe there was some early version that was different. Poor dealer - he probably doesn't realise.

POST 8Original post

Someone's paid a few quid to add an S to their rear badge. I wonder if the dealer paid over the odds by not knowing his Porsches. :?: Well done for not getting suckered 'heed'. :thumb:

POST 9Original post

Just emailed dealer stating simply...Not a C4S. Not holding my breath for a reply.... Did anyone see the Facebook doosh that posted a pic of a C4 recently with the caption 'loving my C4S' He got roasted

POST 10Original post

Thanks Alex for posting those pics, just to remind us what a great looking car the 4S is! :cloud9:

POST 11Original post

Apart from the obvious (to us) external differences it doesnt take much effort to see if the front wheels have a drive shaft going to them! Ian

POST 14Original post

Am I right in thinking the 996.1 C4 was a narrow bodied car? Like PPBB's 300k miler!
