...forgive this rather odd question but when I open the door on my 996 I hear a pop from the cabin ? Any ideas?

Whist i humbly admit theres not many things on the 996 i either havent seen or havent heard of .. this is a new one on me !!! Could it be the door seal rubber sticking perhaps .. wipe it over with Rain X to prove as it wont stick then. Door card loose at the front and catching perhaps . I think other than that im gonna need some sort of a sound clip and a lot of luck

There are vents at the back in the wheel arch .. rubber strips over a hole basically so i doubt it .. You would tend to notice it more on closeing a door rather than opening it .. air has to escape when closeing a door . Fan area / pollen filter is also open unless recerc is on which is another " hole " just a thought but sit in the car and open the door .. see if anything obvious then .

im still thinking door rubber or door card is loose and catching at the front .. ive seen that .. but not this noise .

Any chance it could be coming from the speakers? Lad at work had a C4S with pcm2 and when you opened the door it sometimes made a pop noise from the drivers door speaker!

...have realized it's when I close the door thus is the fact that the seals are tight and it's simply air pressure... Considering how much Molly Coddling these motors need the suggestion of something breaking is always a possibility ...but fortunately not this time :hand:
