A few Variocam questions: Can anyone tell me when the Variocam should "kick in" through the rev on a 2000 C2 (3.4) I had a Box S before but this was a facelift (03) car which correct me if I'm wrong had a newer Variocam setup (Variocam + ??) On the Boxster I remember the Variocam point being about 5000-5500rpm Is it then same on the earlier Variocam models What are the noticeable differences between Variocam & Variocam+ Cheers in advance

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

on the 3.4 the variocam kicks in twice I believe. Once very low down in the rev range (cant remember exactly but seem to remember it was around 1700 ) and then again towards 5500. In a cab with the hood down you can hear it reasonably clearly...and feel it of course.
Variocam is variable valve timing. Varicoam Plus is variable timing and valve lift. This is Variocam:
