I wanted to get *slghtly* lower and stiffer springs for my '11 non-PASM Cayman, and PASM springs seemed to be the way to go: should give 10mm lower ride height with ~20% stiffer spring rates. I got a set of springs from an '06 PASM Cayman. I also got a set of 987.1 spring isolators which are 3mm thick vs. 6mm for 987.2, supposedly necessary to get correct ride height. At the same time I got shim-adjustable GT3 control arms for the front to get some negative camber. With the '06 PASM springs, 3mm front spring isolators (rear ones didn't fit?), and GT3 front control arms installed, the front ride height dropped 29mm while the rear didn't drop at all! Quite the dragster rake... Front is quite a bit lower than I want and rear quite a bit higher. Any thoughts on what might have happened here? I'm thinking of trying to get a set of 987.2 springs and swapping them in. Or just swapping the original springs back in, at least at the front. Or maybe trying to shim the front ride height back up with an additional 6mm isolator or 2... Open to informed ideas on what went wrong here, TIA!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

how old are your absorbers? if they are still the original set - after 8 years they may be a little tired. On mine the fronts seemed to wear out first, looking lower and hitting the bump stops. You may want to invest in a set which match the lowered springs like the Bilstein B8 (they are stiff though) or Cayman R set? I didnt realise that there are differences in 987.1 and .2 isolators. My car did stand at attention after the suspension refresh
