Normally anything I want to know has already been asked and all I need to do is search for an answer. But this time I'm stumped. I have a 2010 Cayman and would like to get/install a backup camera and monitor. I searched on Amazon, which has plenty of them, but I am concerned about the quality. Most of the units have a high percentage of ratings of 1 & 2 stars. A lot of the offerings are the same but with different names. Is there another vendor, beside Amazon, that has a good selection with good reviews. Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Crutchfield has always done right by me. Take a look at the tabs as you're shopping - a lot of times they have 'scratch and dent' discounts. The worst I've seen from these so far was a wiring harness that the ends were already stripped - I was cutting it shorter anyway so this didn't matter.
Try Costco. Solar powered camera, no wires, with monitor, about $120.
Re: Backup Camera, hard wire monitor Thanks for the help. I found a few backup cameras that should work in my 2010 cayman. They are wireless and work by attaching the camera portion to the backup light, so it will activate when going in reverse. The monitor can be powered by plugging into the cigarette lighter. Instead of plugging in, I would rather hard wire the monitor into the fuse panel that is hot only when the car is running. How do I do this. Specific instructions are needed. My handyness stops at doing an oil change. Thanks
For locating an appropriate fuse, search for threads about hard wiring radar detectors on here. They will give you ideas about which fuse locations turn on with ignition.
