Evening Guys and Doll(s) I seem to have a small problem with my sunroof. Occasionally when I attempt to close it, it will close as much as you would expect and then open again. Sometimes it will attempt to close and open again up to seven or eight times. I've also noticed that on one corner it is slight raised when closed. Has anyone else experienced this or similar? Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ta for the useful advice. I shall suggest that to my local OPC and maybe they'll come up with a special chant. Migration info. Legacy thread was 73955

Hi Mine did something very strange last night similar! I parked the car and as it was amazingly not too cold with the heater on and my big Russian fur hat I had been driving with the sunroof open. When i pressed shut on it it closed 3/4's, then immediately opened again!! Took about ten attempts to close, kept doing it! Eventually I turned off and turned on etc a few times, seemed to work ok! I keep the sunroof well oiled Any thoughts? Did you find a cure Bud? Edward
After closer inspection I realised it wasn't sitting completely flush when it was closed so I took it to JZ Maztech where they re-aligned it and it's been pretty good since then.
Cheers Bud!
The stupid tossing sunroof did it again tonight, WOULD NOT close after half an hour of trying, i was getting VERy peed off, oiled it today earlier, maybe that did something, but doubt it, oiled the runners eventuall read hand book and was about to start usuing the emergency winding procedure where you unscrew the map light ficture etc, but luckily read you can lock with the key in door and holding beeper down for three seconds so did that, very annoing though! any further thoughts?
Do these sunroofs have a sensor like on the windows to stop something getting trapped. Just a thought? Pobably won't help a bit? Pete
try closing it by holding the button until it stops closing rather than pushing & releasing the button, which closed the roof automatically. Also try closing from "open" rather than "tilt" or vice versa. Mine sometimes closes "too far" if done by push button from tilt but is fine if done by holding button from "open"!!! Incidentally since post credit crunch Amex no longer has prestige or cool - or is that post Thatcher??
Sounds similar to the motor re-teaching process.....
I have noticed that the wind deflecter thing is causing it to reopen, it seems a bit loose and sometimes does not go down properly as it should therefore the sunroof thinks there is a finger etc trapped in it so reopens I need to replace this bit I suspect, or work out how it mounts on the hinge bit!
sure there isn't a bit of Russian fur hat in the workings?
Ha, its certainly big enough and furry enough! Works a treat in these cold evenings for yorkshire dog walking too, i supose it should as Im sure St Petersburg winters are slightly harsher than ours!
