Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

For a year now, I've been looking for a new set of scoops for my 987.1. By far, the best I've seen are these ones posted at manspeed: However, they're sold out. Has anyone else seen another vendor who sells aftermarket, flush scoops like these?

POST 2Original post

Exotic car gear does sell CF inserts that fit flush just like the originals, albeit a little different slat style than the ones you are showing: https://www.exoticcargear.com/product/carbon-fiber-side-intake-grills-vents/

https://www.amazon.com/Side-scoops-air-Intakes-Cayman/dp/B01MTYUV41?ref_=mw_olp_product_details# ...also google PDP design located a little south of tacoma Washington. I got my Ducktail for my 987.2.

Update to this thread, I went ahead and bought a pair of 997 turbo style vents on eBay. The key difference here was that they don't protrude outwards, for a slightly more sleeper look. I finished the fiberglass off with sem trim black paint, resulting in the look below. In the upcoming weeks I'm looking to install some Cayman-R side decals to balance out the black as well. After some cutting of the inner vent, I was able to keep the intake snorkel installed as well. Hope it's a useful reference point for yet one more Cayman mod!

Got a link to those particular scoops? I'm looking for similar ones. I like the PDP ones, but $700 seems pretty steep for what they are.

POST 6Original post

search for "Porsche 987 Boxster / Cayman to 997 Turbo Side Vents" on eBay. Warning though, their price isn't that far off from the other similar units You're going to have to really want them, to justify it.

POST 7Original post

Imo the best scoops, by far, for any 987 is the Boxster Spyder scoops.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
