Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I broke down and bought the Tech Art Type 1 Steering wheel. I just took a trip to Manhattan with it and I love the wheel and grip. It is incredible. The car also attracted a lot of kids who come up on your *** and want to race. I still think the price is too high (even after I talked them down $200) but it is an awesome wheel. I also bought the sport tips from Porsche. Waiting for the xenon match driving lights and blue city lights.

POST 2Original post

Great looking wheel. How much were the tips? Did you install them yourself? THX.

POST 3Original post

Congrats on the Techart wheel. I agree that it's a terrific steering wheel and really adds to the pleasure of driving the car. Good thing is that you forget the price over time but the enjoyment comes everytime you get in the driver's seat!

POST 4Original post

I probably should have gotten the tips from one of the sponsors for less but opted to go with Porsche Tequipment. They were $450.00 installed. Ouch!

POST 6Original post

yeah, i like that steering wheel...looks nice and grippy. tips are cool too.

POST 7Original post

Do our sponsors sell the round tips like dgrif has or is it OEM style tips?

POST 8Original post

It is also really built up behind the 3 and 9 position but very comfortable.

POST 9Original post

dgrif: does the $200 includes installation and re-installation of airbag? or do you get a new airbag. what does the steering type called? Techart Type 1 steering wheel?

POST 10Original post

I only talked them down $200. The Techart Type 1 is the triangular wheel. The Type 2 is the round sport wheel. The price is actually $1950. I got mine for $1750. Then they add on a $600 deposit. When you send them back your old wheel they credit your account for the $600. The airbag comes out of your old wheel. I took mine to the dealership and they charged $80 to make the swap. You will also pay shipping both ways.
