Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys. I have a 52 plate 996 3.6 targa . I didn't use the car for 3 weeks and the battery went flat . Charged it up and car started fine . As I was driving I noticed the central information centre in the dash binical went off for a second then came back on . I'd did this a few times over 45 mins then went off completely. Next day started the car and all was good . After a short time driving the information centre went off then came back on . After a while went off and stayed off . Does the same every time I drive it . Any ideas

Is it the actual display or the bulb behind it? If the bulb goes out it does look pretty much blank. MC

I,m with MC on this one .. it sounds far more like the illumination bulb than the lcd has packed up .
