Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi i have a 2003 996 cabriolet. the one touch operation for the driver's side electric windows works ok. however, the passenger side only comes down with one touch. It does not go back up if i try and just click it. I have to hold the button down. the dealer said that for 2003 cars in australia, the passenger side one touch going up has been disabled incase it crushes someone.. also, if i put the key in the door lock and close the roof by holding the key, the windows do not come up!... again the dealer said this feature has been disabled for australian cars smells like dealer BS if u ask me... any ideas? thanks Chucksta

Check further down and look at "Passenger Window Won't Raise Properly" post from 5-24-03 and see if that works.

This can easily be enabled via the ODBII interface port, however weather or not Porsche will do it is another question. It's a big liability in the "I'm an idiot so give me money movement" all industrialized nations are heading towards. Europe is now getting as bad as the U.S. with superfluous lawsuits, maybe Australia is on it's way to.

POST 4Original post

In the US the 1997 Boxster did not have one-touch up on the passenger window, but 1998-2003 does. Then in the US the roof on a 996 cab cannot be operated from the remote like the rest of the world. Crazy rules. I doubt if you can get this feature 'turned on' with the PST2. I could not on my 1997 Boxster. The one touch operation is controled by the alarm. Jeff
