Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Holy cow, I've been waiting forever, it seems, for the last two parts I need to start my build. Arp bolts and forged connecting rods might as well be made of unobtanium. I'm wondering if it's even worth it to wait. LN does have the carrillo club specs in stock, but I'm kind of balking at the price. A thousand dollars over the k1s and 500 more than flat six sells the carrillos for is a tough pill to swallow, and I'll still be waiting for bolts, so why spend the extra? This thing is getting so expensive and taking so long that I could have just sent it to Jake Raby. 😅 Any thoughts on building a 3.8 with the stock rods and stock carrier/head bolts? I do at least have arp rod bolts on hand. LN recommends forged rods for the 3.8 build, but they are in the business of selling stuff, after all. I don't plan on tracking the car, but casual autocrossing is likely. I've read that arp carrier bolts are recommended, but stock head bolts are fine.

Maybe slightly off topic....I had a hard time getting the Positive battery cable for my 07 987. I called Porsche dealers in 3 states no one had them and ultimately contacted Porsche Germany. They said a new cable had to be modified to fit the older mod assembly. They had a kit but it was a 3 month wait and then have to be shipped from Germany. Long story short, I got one from a local Porsche auto dismantler and was back running. I hope this is not common for older P cars.

I have a friend with an //M3 and he’s waiting for studs too… no luck and it’s been 18 months

POST 4Original post

Oh man, don't tell me that. I'm trying to hold out hope that it'll only be a few more weeks. 😂

POST 5Original post

Don’t any of the tuners/builders have them? GMG, Velocity, flat6 innovation? There are 700 builders

POST 6Original post

I haven't really tried but maybe I should. My assumption has been that they're likely to have problems getting stuff as well, so they'll want to keep their stock for their own builds, or they'll bump the price like LN did with the carrillos. I've got the K1s ordered for a grand. I just don't think I can justify doubling that to get carrillos when I'm just trying to build a street car.

Inflation?!? Get use to it… we are in for a bumpy recession I’m afraid… I’ve lost over 6 figures this week on 401k alone… anyway, ya call the shops…
