Went to grab a bite on sunset yesterday and the meter was broken so I figured what a find! I eat come back and I have a MFing ticket! I look closer and it's not for the meter but for no front license plate. 31 bucks! In fact all the cars in front and behind me all and I mean each and every one had a ticket, what for I don't know. I was going to inspect and or look at the other's meters but decided instead just to leave. What an A hole meter maid! The person couldn't get me on a meter violation so they had to do a baloney plate ticket. What is wrong with people?

POST 2Original post

Heh-heh-heh, don't do the crime if you can't do the time, as they say. Annoying ticket? Here's mine. I routinely do 80+ mph on the open highway, have done 170-180 mph runs on deserted public roads. Not a single ticket, so far. So, I'm on my way to school to pick up my kids in the minivan, when I gat nabbed for doing 48 in a 35!!! I was so flabbergasted I coundn't come up with a good lie. I couldn't decide whether I should be insulted or be thankful I didn't get nabbed the other times. Just mailed in the fine last week. Guess I should be thankful .

Three years ago...unfamiliar area at 2am (in the rain). Left turn on a green light in an intersection with a no left turn sign (poorly marked I might add) - cop was sitting right there off to the side. The insult was that my final destination (after 2 hours of driving) was a block away from the intersection - AND I WAS IN A MINI VAN!

"Tayside Police Inspector Nick Hull said officers were astonished at the speed of McAllister's 3.2 litre vehicle." I thought that the M3's were V8's. Were the older models 6's? I wonder what the fastest reported speed is in the US? I bet the Gumball blew the 156mph away. -Andrew

POST 7Original post

Driving on the freeway I was going WITH traffic, when all of a sudden I notice the dreaded red lights behind me. I pull to the slow lane to "let him pass me by" and; he gets behind me! I'm thinking what the?! I was going with traffic! Well he still gave me the thicket so there you have it.

POST 8Original post

The new M3's are also just 3.2 liters but the engine has a lot of improvements, like six throttle bodies, improved exhaust, ECU, and other stuff. The M5's are the V8s with a nice 5.0 liter.

POST 9Original post

My most annoying ticket was last July for 104 in a 65 and I got nailed by a highway patrol airplane. I know of no counter-measures for an airplane. Luckily the ground-based trooper only wrote me for the speeding ticket with no reckless op added on. Just 2 points and $145. Terry Currently between Porsches

POST 10Original post

Mine was similar to Redlinerobert's...... On the freeway in the 911, cars in front of me, behind me and on each side of me. We are all going the SAME speed, which was about 7 mph over the limit (65). The motyorcycle cop weaves through all the other cars and nails me!! I asked him why he pulled me over and none of the other cars?....."It's your lucky day"

POST 11Original post

I got one for doing 38 in a 35, however I did take it to court (as I do with all my tickets, no points and insurance premiums do not increase) and got it dismissed. The judge said that it's almost impossible for all speedometers to be 100% accurate or something and that there should always be a 5 MPH margin for error given by the officers.

POST 12Original post

Man in San Francisco no license plate equals $100 fine and I got one recently. That really blows!!! Regards. Mike

996FLT6, Gotta pay for all those homeless services no? I feel your pain.

POST 14Original post

I got a ticket for "speeding under conditions," which I guess means that even though you're under the posted limit, you are going too fast for the conditions of the road (in my case it was wet, but I live in Washington- the roads are always wet!). Oh well.. it was cheap and doesn't affect my insurance. (At least I think it doesn't...) -Jason

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Man those are pretty bad. I actually just got one for going 60 in a 35, and I have to go back to OC as it is a mandatory appearance. It was early in the morning and it was downhill and I was going with traffic. I was so flabberghasted that I said all the wrong things to not get out of it. Now I have to make a trip down there in the next couple of weeks.

POST 17Original post

Yep cmoss-it's a darn joke but at least beats going to traffic school-8 hrs of lingering death. I remember you doing a DE event at Thunderhill-did you have a great time? Love your red/black combo : ). Regards. Mike

POST 18Original post

got a speeding ticket in 65 zone, the cop wrote me for 102, I wasnt arguing with him until I saw the speed he documented because I knew I was speeding 10mph over regular traffic(80-90). After I saw he wrote 102 I told him that I was a member of chp 11-99 (for those outside of cali this is an association benefiting chp) and he said it was too late he already wrote the ticket. He would have definitely given me a break if I had my license frame on. Anyway here's the damage: fine of $1350, lost license 30 days and got 2 points. If he wrote me going 100 I would have gotten a $200-300 ticket and kept my license.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

wow I would say that is the worst other than that moron in england.

POST 20Original post

Just for a change of pace, here's an instance where the cop let me go. I was driving back to NYC from the Hamptons one Sunday night and doing about 80 on the Cross Bronx Expressway. A cop in an unmarked car came up along side me and over his loudspeaker said, "This one's on me" and sped off. He was probably going off shift.

POST 21Original post

Had a thought. What if you (we) kept the front plate under the floor mat and just placed it (carefully) on the dash when we left the car. Might work.

POST 22Original post

In NY, the license plate has to be permanantly mounted. I consider no plate a tax and not a fine. I got tagged about 12 years ago for driving during the day with my headlights on. I had read an article about a study in Canada that said it reduced you chances for being in an accident and started the practice. It seems the office did not believe me or care. He could not find anything in VTL that fit so he wrote me for no blinker. Needlesss to say it also proved the court system as useless. I wonder what they all would say about it today?!?!

POST 23Original post

My most annoying ticket is always the last one I received. In this case it was last week cruising up to Road America/Elkhart Lake. 11:45PM, not a soul in sight and a female county cop clocks me going 72 in a 55 (down from 65 mph zone). I had 15 minutes left on a three hour drive and had just removed my radar detector, put it away and was calling my wife to wish her good-night. Here's the ironic part...on the three hour drive up there I had called into 911 to report a possible DUI and a kid on a sport bike going at least 140 with no helmet weaving in/out of traffic. They pulled the DUI over, but I think the sportbike got away. I even told the cop this prior to her walking back to her cruiser to write me a ticket (or warning) and she just stared at me with that blank cop look. When she came back with the ticket I took it, told her "I guess no good deed goes unpunished", rolled up my window and drove off.

POST 24 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

haha that's rich. Well I just got another parking ticket for my front plate and parking during unlawfully posted hours. I think I am going to try that trick Don suggested. I always keep my plate under the passenger floor mat but hadn't thought of tossing it in the dash for parking. Dinner was less than 10 bucks but the two tickets 40 for the parking and another 25 for the front plate made it an expensive California chicken cafe dinner .

POST 25Original post

In London a regular parking ticket in the city is 100 pounds or 165 dollars. Got one last week because I was 5 minutes over. Don't even know what getting clamped or towed costs. I miss those $10 parking tickets I use to get in Boston. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />
