There are Four ways to get the code for the Becker radio (I had to do this recently to my old CR-11 Becker, as my car had sat for 6 months, and i did not have the Log Book at the time). 1) Phone your local porsche garage, give them the car reg, they can look on system (should be for free) and have SOME codes for the stereo on 2 databases, but not all. They did not have mine so I then did... Failing this... 2) Go to Porsche Dealer, they will pop the stereo from you, take the Serial Number and Model number of the radio, and get the code for you, for about £50... This is the expensive option. 3) Get the radio popped out at car radio shop, get the numbers, and contact Becker, (who make the Porsche radios) (details on website), they charge about £30 for this. This is the medium option 4) Go to Halfords, or on Ebay, and buy Becker radio removal tools for about £3, or get local shop to pop it for you, get the codes (on the sticker on the back or top of radio), go on the internet, type in "radio codes Becker", pay £9.99 and get an instant code, http://www.car-audio-accessories.co.uk/becker-radio-codes.php upon entering your details. This is the cheap option , and IT WORKS just as well, a code is a code, it is the same one Porsche use. I did this (4) a month ago, now happily listening to the radio again! Hope this helps! Edward

Any tips on how to reactivate my Navigation on my Becker Traffic Pro? Its been working fine but last week asked me to insert the Navigation CD, now the CDs I have are not the originals but copies (came that way when I bought the car) and it doesnt recognise the CD!! I know I could buy some kosher CDs but I m wondering if there are any cheaper methods
On most Beckers you can read the serial number without removing the unit. Take a look here for details, where there is also a free decoding thread: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=18982
following on from the above excellent information i just found a genuinely free de-code tool on the internet. it's here: http://www.shouldpay.co.uk/radio-unlock-codes.html it didn't run on my mac but it's fine on my pc. thieved the instructions from this website: http://www.unlockmycarradio.info/how do i operate software.html which basically says enter the first four OR the last four numbers from your serial number then enter the code generated into your radio. job done and i can vouch that it works! a minor victory over all the sharks out there charging a packet for the same thing!
I have that 4-digit Becker decoder, and it's good - but not perfect by any means. It works about 80% of the time. It usually calculates the code within 2 digits of the correct code. If it generates a code of (for example) 1234, try 1232, 1233, 1234, 1235, and 1236.
