Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys, On my car is an after purchase gt3 body kit. The car is a 99 carrera 2. The center vent on a gt3 is cut out like the vents on either side but on my one, obviously because its not a gt3 with no center rad, the center intake is filled in, or to put it another way, was not cut out. There are however two holes drilled symetrically in each side (no idea what for). Anyway, it doesnt look right and no, im not trying to pawn it off as a gt3 but what should i do? cut out the center (not sure what it will reveal) or should i paint it black to make it look as though its cut out? anyone else with this problem? thanks guys

POST 2Original post

The problem would be the fact cutting an aperture would reveal more brackets, hoses/cables and "cavity" quality paint (this is low grade, unlacquered sealing coat which won't withstand stone chip/elements well). This means with will look crap, endanger rust and make a lovely pocket to collect road debris. I suppose you could cover the centre blanking with a dummy grill (if you grilled the two rads either side).

POST 3Original post

Same for me, I know what you mean. I just blacked it out. Behind is one of the cleanest areas of the car! No aero benefit to be had without a RS PU with the top air vents

POST 4Original post

Well - that would then appear to be an option for you then. JZM have a machine jig to cut those vents and turn any GT3 PU into the RS equivalent...

POST 5Original post

You shouldn't put such ideas in my head... how much is it to do? :?
