Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been searching lately for a C2 cab in a tip for my dad, well the dealer called me up today telling me they just got a C4 cab in the same color I want with a crazy amount of options.(it seemed like he wanted to get rid of it quickly by the way he was talking).... It lists for $101,000, he said he would give it to me for $93,000 roughly.. He wants in total 11,120 down for 4 years with 12,000 miles a year, with a monthly payment of $1120... I'm going to go in tomorrow and see if I can get him down a lot... I'm going to go for total out of pocket $10,000 with a monthly payment of 1050, I wanted to know if I'm asking for too much? Thanks, sorry for the long post.

POST 2Original post

Agree with Dan. I presume this is a new '03 Cab. I would want at least 10K off. All those options are a real liability for selling that car in this market (and the dealer probably knows that). You should be able to approach that lease payment with NO money down. Check out leasecompare.com and leaseguide.com for some ball park numbers.

POST 3Original post

Did you read the responses to your first post? Based on those numbers, something is wrong. At a 50% residual with 11k down and a money factor of .00249, I get 1050 (roughly) a month. Do yourself a favor and search the internet for lease calculations (or e-mail me privately). You are getting another BS deal from this dealer. Why bother putting $ down? If you are worried about higher payments, take that 11k and put it in the bank. Take some of it every month to pay part of the payment if it is too high.

POST 4Original post

Yeah - with ZERO down, 10k off list, and a money factor of .0024, with a 55% residual, my calculations come to $1190. Taxes included! Find the money factor and the residual, then post again - or e-mail me privately and I'll get you a great little lease calculator spreadsheet that will tell you what you should be getting. They may not give it to you, but that's what other dealers are for...

ZeeZee I tried to email you but it said your email is "being blocked". I would be interested in that lease calculation spreadsheet. Have a direct email address?
