I attended the Porsche Driving Experience this week at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, and I must say that this was one of my all-time favorite experiences. The program is run in a first-class fashion, the track and attendant facilities are brand new and gorgeous, and the instructors are world-class, and nice guys to boot. For those who do not regularly track or autox their cars, this is a great way to explore the incredible capabilities of the 996 Carrera (all cars are stock with 18" wheels, sport suspensions, and sport exhaust)without getting your own car dirty, and to develop your skill in handling your car in the correct fashion. Some highlights- heel-and-toe instruction from Hurley Haywood (!), five Carreras in trail with sport exhaust leaving the pit road under full acceleration (great sounds!), working like crazy to keep up with Haywood who is leading your group, and knowing that he is driving with one hand and talking to you on the radio with the other, fast laps in the car with the instructors, watching Haywood and Jack Baldwin on the track with each other with students in the car with them, passing each other and generally having a blast, and, interestingly enough, hot-lapping in a Cayenne Turbo with Cass Whitehead at the wheel and three students in the car and not losing ground to the hot-lapping Carreras (as Cass said, can't brake with them, but 450 horsepower makes up a lot of ground on the straights). The whole thing is a blast, and I would highly recommend it to those considering the investment.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
