Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Does everyones power windows still operate whenever the doors are open with no key in the ignition? If the doors are closed (no key) the switches don't operate the windows, but as soon as you open the doors you can roll the windows up and down without a key in the ignition. I didn't think this was normal... This is a 2012 Cayman S .

POST 2Original post

carlj, I tried the same thing in my 2009 and yes, I too can lower/raise windows with the key out and door open. mine has the feature of lowering and raising the windows via key fob too - not sure if this is standard or some kind of option, and if has any effect. I found this an interesting read on power supply of the car.... Cayman Technical Data

Thanks for checking! Great technical spec thread, appreciate the link! Thought I may have a faulty module.

POST 4Original post

funny thing is this only works when the door is open. try closing it again and it doesnt work from inside the car.
