Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

do a search for Hayward and Scott. They do a conversion for about £300 that adds a bypass pipe to your standard exhaust, which sounds similar to a PSE. You dont have the ability to switch the sound on or off though.
If you have the PSE1 found on 996.1 (3.4) the the H&S/Oettle muffler mod is an IDENTICAL sound. Technically the PSE2 found on 996.2 (3.6) offers a lower tone vs Oettle mod to 3.6 mufflers. Don't worry about not being able to turn is off. Seems genuine PSE owners spend most of their time asking how to keep the valve OPEN permanently! If you just drive on partial throttle below 2k rpm the car is almost silent (or perhaps that's just my ears not working after a blast) - check out last part of 2nd YOUTUBE vid.
