Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So after getting a little tired of hot air coming out with the AC switched on, I decided to take up the kwit-fit offer to reduce temp by 10% or money back. Plugged the system into my 1999 C2 cab and was told system was completely empty. Proceeded with a vacuum to clear out entire system before a re-gas. However at the end of vacuuming, the computer said that 'leak detected' and that it 'needs fixing before gassing'. The kwik-fit chap told me that I would need to get it checked out to fix the leak before it can be re-gassed. Any ideas/suggestions?

POST 2Original post

My money would be on one or both of the aircon rads leaking. Very common problem given their vulnerable position and the accumulation of dead leaves etc. that usually sees the bottoms corrode. Any decent indie can sort it fairly easily. The rads are around £200 per side from Eurocarparts, ISTR.

POST 3Original post

I have a similar problem. If it is the rads would they be covered under the Porsche warranty?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Would warranty claims cover cars over 10 years old? Worth a try I suppose

POST 5Original post

My C4S is a 2004 model still under OPC warranty. Would my rads be covered?

POST 6Original post

Yes - I had mine done when I still had a warranty.

POST 7Original post

Thanks for the info Nick. I will get mine booked in tomorrow. :thumb:
