Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 996 911 turbo.. and its advertised as X50 power upgrade... how do I tell? any markings on the engine or log book ect? thanks Zahid

POST 2Original post

It should be X50 under Item 5 Optional Equipment in the log book

POST 3Original post

or, put your foot down. If it scares the living do daa's out of you it's a normal turbo, if it means you have to stop, get out and sit down for a little bit it's an X50.

POST 4Original post

theres a sticker under the bonnet with a few codes x50 sould be there .

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

lol... thanks for that.. i have a 911 964 turbo which is 460 bhp and race spec.. lightweight seats.. roll cage ect.. so i dont think the x50 will scare me that much..

POST 8Original post

understood, just talking about the difference :thumb: notice you have a 123d? I fancy one of those. Drove the coupe a year or so ago and was very impressed. But hate the looks really. But a 3 door hatch in white.......looks luverly.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

... yeah mate.. its very nice (wife cars)... 2 liltre twin turbo diesel and i have had it remaped to 260bhp... so very quick and over 45 mgp on a motorway run... 18" m sport alloys and factory sat nav... very rare colour combo.. ALSO IF ANYONE CAN HELP DOES A AERO KIT ON A 2003 03 911 966 TURBO MAKE IT EASIER OR HARDER TO SELL.. AS THE ONE IM LOOKING AT TOMZ HAS GOT A FACTORY AERO KIT.. THANKS FOR THE ADVISE.

POST 10Original post

Woah... turn the volume down a bit :hand: Personally, I don't like the aerokit, but some people love it, so it's 50/50 as to whether it affects resale I guess. I wouldn't pay any more for one with it, but I probably wouldn't pay any less either - if everything else was right. After all, you don't see that bit when you're driving, do you?

POST 11Original post

sounds lovely. Its a while since i have driven a 123d - my usual steed is a 330d, but BMW really does produce some cracking good diesels across the range (though I don't see the point of the 25d :dont know: ). I'm not so sure the white / rd combo is that rare - I've seen a few more recently and its one that BMW dealers are recommending. One of my faves as well, behind dakargelb, of course  Sorry to hijack!!
