I do not know if I have this in the right section of this forum but if not please direct me as to where to move it. We have noticed a vibrating sound only at certain rpm ranges. I jacked up the car and looked underneath to see what I could fined. The noise reminded me of years back when I had loose heat shields on my BWM. Looking underneath and giving everything a good grab showed nothing. I started right at the header and moved back. I believe the first thing I encounter is the cat and then back to the muffler. If I have this correct the muffler(s) are placed across the rear of the car right before the tailpipe. Well the bracket that is on the end of the muffler that allows it to be secured to the brace sticking out from the tranny is snapped right off. It is the one on the outside edge of the muffler, looks like a flat piece of metal welded on to the muffler. Can this be welded? I think it is stainless. Any help is appreciated. I can get photos if that will help. Thanks in advance!:helpme: Jay

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I must admit to being stunned by the number of views and the lack of a response until I found out the exhaust was mfg. by A.W.E Tuning. Since we bought the car used I did not know it was not a Porsche upgrade. Pictures by fstlnj29 - Photobucket I don't quite have the link thing down but if you past the link on a blank web page you can see the muffler with the broken tab. Jay:cheers:
go to an exhaust shop and see if they can fix it
