Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

have not driven one, but Sport Auto was also quite complimentary re the manual box
Good to hear then; but i would not be buying a GTS until the Gen 2 is out.
From top gear : PDK or manual, though? As much as we love Porsche's PDK double clutch gearbox - it's still probably the best in the business - the company has outdone itself with the newly revamped seven-speed manual. This is, without little doubt, the best manual gearbox I have ever used. Smooth, quick, precise, it's like Porsche has reinvented it all over again. It's uniquely polished details like this that make so many people continue to buy Porsches. Not so sure about the gen2 argument. If it comes as a turbo this one could become one of the greatest again...
According to Greg Kable the base 991.2 is going to be a 365 hp 3.0 fl6 n/a so I presume the 3.8 will remain n/a for the time being
Having driven all combos of box, I wouldn't have a PDK 997 (gen 2 manual with SSK is my reference for a good manual) and I wouldn't have a manual 991. Be interesting to see how the revamped 991 manual compares.
