Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I've been frustrated with my inconsistent clutch behavior for quite some time. I finally made time to slide under the car and bleed the clutch slave cylinder. Initial impressions are good, clutch grabs much sooner in the clutch pedal travel... further from the floor. And it seems to grab at the same place every time. This article made things go smoothly. The clutch seemed to be most fussy on cold mornings, so I may have to wait a month or two to see if the bleeding solved that problem. I could not see Air in the clear tubing when bleeding due to the slave cylinder so recessed up in the engine bay. Also, when I do this next time, I'll buy an offset 11mm box-end wrench and cut it in half so I can actually turn the thing up in that tight spot. When I did it today, I loosened it with a 11mm deep socket, and had to open and close it with the open end of the 11mm wrench. I didn't feel great about that at all.
