I totally destroyed the contact 2 tires (that came with the car) at a track day. Looking to replace them. Was considering the AVS sport or Ecsta MX. On the MX the rears are available as 295-35's. Is that going to be an issue? Any other suggestions. Mostly city driving and only the rare track day is contemplated.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hgmobile, I did the same thing.I used up a set of street tires (Continental) pretty quickly at the track. I decided that it would be less costly in the long run to get an extra set of wheels and track tires. I got 17 inch take offs for $1200 and Hoosiers for $800. Now, it is true that I do more than the occassional track day, so this may not be as useful to you. Just a thought. Regards, Mike
I believe you posted this question over on CFG's board, and were told that with a C4 it is important to maintain the same or close to the same tire size diameter front to back. The stock tire sizes are very close to the same diameter--my tire size calculator shows a difference of less than .4" in diameter from a 295/30 rear tire and the 225/40 front tire size which is stock. Too great a difference in front to rear rolling diameter and you might have a problem with the vicious coupling down the road, and/or PSM/ABS warning lights triggered by the car's computer reading a material mismatch in front and rear tire RPMs. It will be tough if not impossible to get a close match front to rear with a 295/35 rear tire. Unless you want to go up to 305/30 R and 245/40 F tire size (this combo has better than an inch difference front to back but is still reasonably close, although the 305/30 may rub a hole in your fender liner which is a pain but it doesn't touch anything past the liner), I'd go stock sizes. Yokohama, Pirelli, and Continental make 295/30 and you can get Michelin Pilot Sport Cup or Pirelli Corsas if you want competition R compound tires in the 295/30 size.
Paul S... How are you calculating tire size? I'm considering a second set of rims/tires for my C4-S and have similar concerns about overall diameter and the AWD system. I'd love to have the ability to calculate myself instead of being afraid to buy every set of wheels and tires that comes my way because I'm afraid I'll ruin my car.
