My GHL exhaust came yesterday and I'm getting ready to install it. I have the "dual circle" Porsche tips and plan on using them with the GHL mufflers. My question is how do the tips attach to the mufflers? What specific tools (torch, welder, etc.) are needed if any? TIA

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

LanceK, I don't know thing one about installation, but I'm glad you went with the GHL. I had the sport exhaust tips and these were retained instead of the ghl tips. They looked better and are bigger. Did you get the headers as well? Let us know how you like the exhaust when you're done. Enjoy, Mike
I only got the mufflers. I'm too concerned with warranty / check engine light issues with the headers. My friend is a Nissan tech and we plan to mount them in his service dept. Tues night... I'll keep you posted with my impressions.
There's a single bolt and nut that tightens a metal sleeve around both the end of the exhaust and the end of the tip. A screwdriver can be used to pry the sleeve open after the bolt has been removed. No torches needed. The same tools that help you remove the exhaust will get the tip off. Any chance you can create a sound file of your exhaust after the installation? I've never heard the GHL and haven't been able to find any clips.
Thanks for the info. I would've just looked at my own car to see how they're mounted but it's at the dealer.... I'll see what I can do on the sound clip. I actually have never heard it myself. I'm just going on the advice of a friend and from comments from this board.
